Newsletter May 2017
Hi all swimmers and parents,
As we are sure most of you have noticed, we have now added blankets to our pool which we are so excited to say, seem to be keeping the water really nice and warm, so now our awesome swimmers can continue to train through the winter in really warm water J
The new swim season started from the 1st of May and with that comes the price increases. The new prices that will be applicable from 1 June 2017 are as follows:
Learn to swim R460.00 per month
Stroke correction R480.00 per month
Squad group R500.00 per month
Saturdays R380.00 per month
Registration fee R300.00 once off fee upon joining the club
Heating fee R200.00 per annum
Subscription fee R300.00 per annum
The heating and subscription fee is payable per annum, however should you wish to arrange payment terms, please contact us via email.
Coffee and hot chocolate station
We will be implementing a few changes in the club with the new season starting this month. The awesome news is with the colder weather approaching, we have decided to offer tea and coffee to the parents and hot chocolate for the swimmers. The benches will be moved upstairs to the studio and then everyone can help themselves to the beverages. We will be charging a minimum fee of R10 per cup which is just to cover the added expenses and will please be paid in to our ‘honesty box’. There will not be any staff to manage the area, so we trust everyone will assist in the honesty of this initiative so we can keep it going.
Fund Raiser
Our first fund raiser is planned for the 2nd June 2017 to be held at John Dory’s and the ice rink Galleria. The funds raised will go towards paying for our blankets. 10% of your food bill will go towards our fund raiser. Your children can ice skate while you enjoy your meal. There is a fantastic play area (with child minders) for the younger children that can’t skate. Please invite your friends and family, all are welcome!

Ice skating rink R100 per child – Includes ticket to skate and a kiddie’s meal

Extended swimming times
Our senior squad groups have now started to extend their training times with their fitness level increasing. This was mentioned to the individuals who Coach McLeod felt were fit enough to increase their pool time, but the others will be joining them soon enough.
Club registration
Another bit of exciting news is Aqua Swimming Academy is officially a registered swimming club J Those wanting to compete/race with Swim South Africa will need to register as soon as possible. We have the capitation forms available upon request. The Swim South Africa fee for 2017/2018 season is R900 per swimmer and one parent per swimmer will need to register to be a time keeper at an additional R100 per annum. All registration fees are to be paid in cash and handed along with the completed capitation form to Aqua lifestyle Centre.
Parking
We must ask again please, parking is only permitted on the verge of Aqua, our neighbors do not take lightly to cars on the road and we endeavour to keep the peace as far as possible. Could we encourage the parents of the older kids who swim for longer to please make use of the ‘drop and go’ system? Your children are perfectly safe during their lesson with our coach and this gives you a bit of ‘free time’.
Fees
Fees are payable in advance by the 27th of the prior month.
Please ensure your fees are up to date as we will be suspending swim lessons for children with outstanding fees.
Should you have any queries, suggestions or ideas we would love to hear from you.
We are looking forward to this new season with all the swimmers gaining fitness and being rewarded with great results!
Thank you so much
Nicki and Jess
